Who you are buying from
Carry is made and published by the developer of carry.md. The license is sold through Polar — Polar Software, Inc. is the merchant of record and the reseller of the license, which is why Polar's name appears on your card statement, your invoice, and your receipt. Google is not the seller: the Chrome Web Store distributes the extension, but the purchase happens entirely on Polar's pages and is governed by Polar's terms alongside these.
What you are buying
A perpetual, non-exclusive license to use Carry for your own conversations, on up to 5 devices at a time. It is a one-time payment of $79 — currently $59 with the EARLY20 launch discount applied at checkout, plus any sales tax or VAT Polar is required to collect for your country. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no second charge — there is nothing to cancel, and nothing that can lapse and re-bill you.
The license covers future versions of Carry too. Updates are included; there is no upgrade fee.
You may install Carry on up to 5 devices. If you replace a machine, deactivate the old one in your Polar account to free the slot. The license is for you — please don't share the key.
The free trial
Carry is free to use for 14 days from the day you install it. No card, no sign-up. When the trial ends, capture stops until you activate a license — automatic capture, manual sync, and full-history backfill all stop together.
Full-history backfill (ChatGPT and Claude) needs a license and is not part of the trial. The trial is the current recent-conversation capture, so you can see exactly what the files look like before you decide.
Nothing that was already saved is affected. Every file Carry has written to your folder is plain Markdown that stays where it is, readable without Carry, whether you buy or not.
Delivery
Polar emails your license key immediately after payment. Paste it into Carry's settings and press activate. If the email hasn't arrived within a few minutes, check spam, then write to us — the key also lives in your Polar account, which you can sign into with the email you bought with.
Refunds and returns
If Carry isn't for you, email support@carry.md within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. No questions, no reason needed. Include the email address you bought with so we can find the order. Refunds are issued through Polar to the original payment method and typically appear within a few business days, depending on your bank.
After a refund the license key is deactivated and Carry returns to its unlicensed state. Your captured files are yours and are never touched — Carry does not delete, move, or lock anything it has written.
If you are in the EU or the UK, this policy is deliberately at least as generous as your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, and we do not ask you to waive it. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer law of your country.
Because Carry is software delivered as a license key, there is nothing to ship back — a refund is the whole of the return.
Taxes
Polar, as merchant of record, calculates, collects, and remits any sales tax or VAT due on your purchase. Prices on this site are shown before tax; the exact total for your country appears at checkout, and your invoice is available in your Polar account.
What a lifetime license does and doesn't promise
It promises that this purchase is the only one: Carry keeps working, and updates keep coming, without another payment. Carry has no server, so there is no backend that can be switched off underneath you — an installed, activated copy keeps writing to your folder on your own machine.
It does not promise that every provider will stay capturable forever. Carry reads ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok through each provider's own interfaces, and a provider can change or restrict those at any time, without notice to us. We fix what we can, as fast as we can, and Carry says so in the file when something could not be captured. But a provider's decision is outside our control, and support for a given provider is offered as-is rather than guaranteed for life. If a change like that lands within your refund window, the refund stands as written above.
Carry is provided as-is, without warranty beyond what your local consumer law requires and what these terms state.
Support
Write to support@carry.md — licensing, activation, refunds, bugs, all of it. It is a person, not a ticket queue, so please give it a day or two.
Changes to these terms
If the price, the refund window, the device limit, or what a license covers changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. The terms that apply to you are the ones published on the day you bought. Changes are never retroactive.
How Carry handles your data is a separate document, and the more interesting one: see the privacy policy.
